JULY IS CONSIDERED TO BE THE PERFECT TIME FOR A REVIEW OF YOUR FINANCIAL REPORTING SYSTEM ...

By PROACTIVELY reviewing your Business Bookkeeping in June, you can ensure that your Financial Records are accurate and organized, allowing you to make more informed financial decisions through to the end of the year. FINANCIAL PLANNING in the PRE-LAUNCH stage of your Business is crucial, and an intentional financial roadmap is an absolute MUST-HAVE!!! Here are a few actionable steps:

(1) You MUST have access to an Accountant/Tax Preparer/Lending Institution

(2) You MUST prepare (in ADVANCE) a Cash Flow Projection as well as a Budget Projection

(3)  You MUST prepare a financial reporting forecast for how your customized record-keeping system will be required post-launch, and how this will allow you real-time access to necessary REPORTS and FUNCTIONALITIES

Growing ANYTHING that you are excited or intentional about requires TIME INVESTMENT ... and BUSINESS PLANS are no exception!!!  It is so important, and so necessary, to make TIME to plan for your NEW BUSINESS.  Even though the presumably available time in your life seems to be at a deficit, and so many more things actively take precedence, you MUST allow for that time to TARGET INFORMATION that is applicable to your BUSINESS NICHE.

Please remember that, just because you read about the "PERFECT" BUSINESS PLAN, this doesn't mean that it's the perfect plan for YOUR Business. Building your Business Plan goes hand-in-hand with your Business Aspirations ...  a true understanding of WHAT you need to plan for is truly dependent on REQUIREMENTS of your particular BUSINESS TYPE ...

What we as Business Owners quite often "forget", is that we will never HAVE TIME if we don't MAKE THE TIME!!! As well, we fail to truly understand that we can't HAVE A SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS if we don't LIVE OUR BEST LIFE, and we can't LIVE OUR BEST LIFE  if we aren't EFFECTIVELY OPERATING OUR BUSINESS.

Not everyone will have the same "time availability" as we are all at different STAGES and PLACES in our lives. TIME BUDGETING will look different for individuals based on Family Dynamics (kids/no kids), whether you are growing your Primary Online Business or a Side Hustle, and even how committed we are about developing our creation(s) ...

First of all, and this directly relates to the the entire premise of my blog, when I first began my Business Pivot, I was simply too busy "figuring things out" to devote time to yet another "project" ... which is what BUILDING A WEBSITE felt like to me at that time.

Second, I was still working on a SHOESTRING BUDGET, and from the little bit of research regarding Website Building that I had done at the beginning of my business transformation journey ... it was going to be a significant  financial commitment.

While I was doing my marketing research, I had discovered many ways to "bypass" having to create a website ... all of which are perfectly acceptable methods for those of us who are in the "beginning phases" of our business launching/promotion, and I would actually absolutely suggest trying the following method out, as it gives you a chance to try out "website building" on a smaller scale ...

First of all, the very first decision you must make is ... who is the audience that you want to create this blog for??? For me, this was easy ... I wanted to design a blog around new business owners who want a resource for finding the answers to their business startup questions.  I wanted the blog to be very personal and intentional, so people could identify with me, while also providing accurate and detailed information on topics that are hotspots for frustration ...

Next, I want you to know that there are about one million hosting platforms to choose from (once again, that's a tiny bit of an exaggeration).  You need to decide if you want your blog to be included on your business website or an entirely separate site. Then you need to decide if you want to host it on a free platform, or if you want a self-hosted website which would involve some financial investment.  Oh my goodness ... so many choices!!!

As a Home-Based Business Owner, I went through every recognizable stage of the Business Growth Transformation. I knew that "anything and everything ONLINE" was the way the world was heading ... and THAT was how I wanted to Pivot My Business.

All I had to do was figure out "how to", and yes, it has been ABSOLUTELY TERRIFYING!!! There I was, operating an amazingly success business, and now, at the age of 48, I'm completely changing my direction ... what am I thinking???

Picture this ... you're a business owner with a vision that is bigger than the bottom line. You're insanely busy juggling customers/clients, a multitude of tasks and endless opportunities ... you know, the fun stuff ... all the while neglecting to keep a watchful eye on your company's financial health. Amidst the excitement and hustle, you've overlooked, or perhaps "moved to the side" that one crucial aspect ... tracking and managing your expenses, aaaaaand ... drumroll please ... it's year-end prep time.

You know you have been neglectful, and you wish you could hit the rewind button, but it's too late ... it's time for some hard-core, pull your hair out, work all night bookkeeping madness!!!

Time to get serious ... right??? Well, the hard truth is that you could have pre-empted all this stress by simply being more "mindful" of your bookkeeping tasks throughout the year!!! You should have known after years of the "last-minute stress", that it can be SO MUCH EASIER ...
